There is something magical about summer containers when they finally hit their stride. The petunias begin spilling over the edges, calibrachoa starts glowing in the evening light, lantana fills with butterflies, and suddenly your patio, porch, or deck feels alive with color. On Sunday, June 14th, the Lakeview Plant Geek Team invites you to join us for a hands-on Make & Take Workshop focused entirely on creating those bold, thriving summer combinations that shine all season long.
During the workshop, everyone will get to choose their favorite sun or shade loving flowering plants and together we will build either a beautiful hanging basket or a patio planter to take home and enjoy all summer. This is not one of those classes where everyone makes the exact same planter. We want you to play with color, texture, and plant combinations while learning why certain plants thrive together. Whether you love hot tropical colors, soft cottage garden blends, hummingbird favorites, or dramatic foliage combinations, our team will help guide you toward a design that fits your style and space.
Of course, the real Plant Geek magic happens after the planter goes home. Throughout the class we will also cover the best practices for watering, fertilizing, pruning, and deadheading so your containers continue looking full, healthy, and absolutely sizzling through the heat of summer. We will share the little tricks we use every day in the greenhouse to keep annuals blooming hard well into fall. If you have ever wondered how garden centers keep baskets looking so full and colorful all season, this is your chance to learn the secrets while getting your hands dirty and creating something beautiful of your own.
